Breeding
Our puppies grows up in a home environment and gets used to other dogs early. They are of course with their mother who feeds them, plays with them and raises them in a natural way. Our puppies are also accustomed to the different sounds that they will encounter later on in their new family eg. vacuum cleaning, TV. They are also accustomed to different environments such as riding a car, travelling through the woods etc. All puppies will also taste bird at 5 weeks of age.
The puppies are ready for delivery at 8 weeks of age.
We are very concerned about creating a mellow environment for the bitch and her puppies and therefore we have set certain standards:
- No visitation until after 3-4 veeks of the birth of the puppies, from anyone that the bitch does not know.
- When the other dogs of the house can visit will be decided by the bitch.
Breeding goals
Our goals with breeding tollers are to:
- breed healthy and nice dogs
- breed dogs that follow the breeding standards
- breed litters so that they are better then their parents
In our breeding work we use healthy dogs that have a good mentality. We eyemirror, PRA testing and CEA testing and ofcours Xray and elbow xray our dogs, and we also follow the guidelines set by the toller club and SSK’s rules.
All of our dogs are showed on dog exhibitions..
To buy a puppy from us
When looking to buy a puppy from us you should be aware that the toller is a working dog. It has a work engine that needs to be run! Do not confuse this with stress because a stressed dog is not the same thing as a dog with a working engine.
My point of view is that dogs don’t feel good by working hard 7 days a week. The dog should also always be able to relax even if nothing is happening one day.
If you do not want to spend a lot of time on your dog and work with it in a way that makes it nice and mellow then you should look for another breed. What kind of activity you choose is up to you. Tollers fit well to all kinds of activities: obedience, freestyle, agility, hunting, tracking, you name it. There are a lot of fun activities for you and your dog.
I do not sell any lap dogs, but working dogs that are wonderful family dogs as long as they get activation the way they should, both mental and physical activation.
Before you can sign our list for a puppy you need to come visit us here on our farm and meet our dogs. This is a requirement!
The dog will be X-rayed for both hip and elbow between 12 and 18 months of age.
To us it is important to find the right buyer for each puppy. Therefore I will choose the puppy for each owner. We want a good relation with our buyers before they buy a Nortorps puppy and we are keen to have a good communication with you and the puppy for the rest of its life. We also offer help if something would occur. We will have meetings once a year for the puppies to get a chance to meet each other and hopefully the entire litter can gather.
Our breeding policy is to bring forth puppies that we would like to buy ourselves and to be the kind of breeder we would like for our own dogs.
